A post card written on the Iowa frontier, a response that will never have closure. But the recipient is identified as Mary Charlton who appears in the 1870 census, but she is living one county over in Adel, Dallas County Iowa, and she 19 years old. Which would have made her 23 years old at the time when the card was written, mailed and received in December of 1874.
